Research & Teaching

In 2018 I started innocently and humbly in the world of research and completed my honours thesis at Monash University. My topic, “Contemporary Tango as Resistance: A Case Study of Julián Peralta” was informed through my reflective practice as a tango musician and through study trips to Buenos Aires and workshops in Portland, Oregon. I was assisted by two amazing colleagues with a wealth of experience in academic research and performing in Buenos Aires: Stephen Cutriss and Paloma Bica.

Teaching

I have taught piano, music theory and VCE music for years. Currently I run the VCE program at Reservoir High School and teach from my home studio. I am a registered teacher in Victoria. Please reach out if you would like piano lessons. Lessons are tailored to individual students and be focussed on classical music, jazz, tango or salsa/latin jazz genres. I have a depth of knowledge in each of these genres and can lead you to discover the richness each of these genres give us.
